Abstract Download PDFOptical micro-ring resonators (MRRs) element canbe used in many applications. This paper we proposea photonics circuit design based on optical tree archi-tecture (OTA) for all-optical elements by using themodi ed add-drop lter for an all-optical arithmeticlogic unit (ALU) aimed for computing applicationssystem. All-optical 2x4 decoder, all-optical compara-tor, all-optical half adder, all-optical half subtractor,all-optical full adder, all-optical full subtractor andproposed new design all-optical 4x16 decoder wereproposed. We have studied the nonlinear effect inthe modi ed add-drop lter system, which is controlby injected the nonlinear pulses on top as an inputfor generated all-optical logic and arithmetic opera-tions simultaneously at the through and drop port ofmodi ed add-drop lter.
