Abstract Download PDF

The objective of this study is to apply single minute exchange of die (SMED) and Eliminate, Combine, Rearrange and Simplify (ECRS) techniques to analyse and provide improvement methods in order to reduce powdered drink Mix process waste time. From the study result, the highest packing process waste time is the time for aluminum foil changed operation. The major root cause came from lacking of working standards. Therefore, after adoption of SMED technique and ECRS technique such as rearrange, eliminate, and simplify, waste time of aluminum foil changed operation was reduced 565 sec/time that was 67% reduction from original time. Moreover, Total capacity of packing process was increased 16,143 unit/day
