Automotive parts delivery improvement to automotive assembly factory

The objective of this research was to propose a guideline for improving the automotive- part delivery process of an automotive-part manufacturer (Tier 1) to car-assembly-lines, an automotiveassembly factory so as to enhance levels of the customers’ satisfaction. In the manufacturing system based on ‘Just in time’ (JIT) criterion in the delivery process to delivery parts on time. Based on a survey on the current company’s delivery process, the major weaknesses were delivery errors and the no flow process in delivery. This study aimed at designing layout and working process of the warehouse and shipping departments. The new design result of warehouse layout and working process was evaluated for proving the efficiency by applying for the actual work of packaging type bumper rack. Each order was arranged on time before the truck arrived 100% that is possible of making the actual operations to the others. In conclusion, this research could determine the cause of the problem and offer a solution that can be applied to operational reality.
